A player of Oblivion Remastered recently ventured beyond the game’s map boundaries and discovered several iconic locations from the Elder Scrolls universe, including Hammerfell, the rumored setting for The Elder Scrolls VI (Elder Scrolls 6).

Since its surprise release on April 22, 2025, Oblivion Remastered has captivated over 4 million players in its first week, earning praise as a standout remaster for its faithful yet enhanced return to Cyrodiil.
Oblivion Remastered player gets into potential Elder Scrolls 6 zone, Hammerfell
By exploiting an invisible barrier near Kvatch, a Reddit user escaped the playable area and explored regions like Valenwood, a Wood Elf homeland featured in Elder Scrolls Online.
The terrain, though not fully detailed, was surprisingly accessible. The player also spotted the Summerset Isles in the distance but couldn’t reach them due to falling through the map.
Most notably, the adventurer reached Hammerfell, a region tied to Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall and heavily speculated to be the setting for The Elder Scrolls VI, based on the 2018 teaser trailer’s mountainous landscape and a leaked Pinterest page allegedly tied to a Bethesda employee.
While Hammerfell’s landscape in Oblivion Remastered was sparse, featuring grassy valleys and snowy peaks with Skyrim’s Throat of the World visible, it offered a tantalizing glimpse of Tamriel’s geography.
The player attempted to locate the exact coastline from The Elder Scrolls VI trailer but was thwarted by another map glitch. Remarkably, the game’s landmass extends far beyond Cyrodiil’s borders, hinting at more uncharted areas that stretch past the render distance.
While these regions may lack polish, their presence in Oblivion Remastered sparks curiosity about Bethesda’s ambitions for Tamriel’s future, especially with The Elder Scrolls VI still years away.

This unexpected discovery provides fans a small preview of what the next chapter might hold.
